iLembe Book Festival

Zanele Ndlovu is an author, oral storyteller, teacher, publisher, scriptwriter, isiZulu quality assurer, curriculum developer, translator, workshop facilitator, researcher, and indigenous musical instrument teacher. She is the author of two children’s books, Umakhweyana and Simunye, both written in her mother tongue, isiZulu. She published the books through her own publishing enterprise, Izilimi Zase Afrika. To support language learning and pronunciation, the books are also available as audiobooks. Zanele previously taught at the Cape Gate Centre for Music in Soweto, where she provided music theory instruction to six Early Childhood Development Centres adopted by the Centre. She also developed a music theory curriculum tailored for these learners. In addition, she has facilitated workshops for various organisations, with a focus on early childhood education and literacy development.
