Sihle Mthembu

Sihle Mthembu is a writer and filmmaker born in Mooi River in the KZN Midlands. He has worked as a scriptwriter, producer, director, art critic, and journalist. His work has appeared in publications such as Rolling Stone SA, Vice, The Mail & Guardian, The City Press, One Small Seed, The Sunday Independent, The Independent on Saturday, Bona, Mahala, and OkayAfrica. He is also the former resident film critic for The Sunday Tribune and the creator of two podcasts on Black culture, music, and film. As a screenwriter, Mthembu has written for and developed storylines for some of South Africa’s top shows, including Shaka iLembe (Mzansi Magic), House of Zwide (eTV), Queendom (BET), The Wife and Adulting (Showmax), and Blood & Water Season 5 (Netflix). He holds a B-Tech degree in Journalism from the Durban University of Technology.
