iLembe Book Festival

Zanele Mthethwa affectionately known as MaNyambose, is a journalist by profession, InspirationalSpeaker and Author of nine books. She is currently a Communications Manager in Zululand District Municipality. She was a presenter of a literature show, which bagged a Best Literature OutreachAward at the Book Behind Awards in 2021. In 2018 she founded an NPC which was called Breaking The Silence and is also a Director of Zvakwana PTY (LTD), under which she has published two authors. Breaking The Silence (BTS) was all about stimulating and building healthy, strong families and empowered people on relationship matters. Under this NPC Manyambose has hosted seminars that mainly focus on love, marriage, and divorce as well as other societal matters that are still taboo in the African society.

She was born and bred at Inanda, North of Durban in the province of KwaZulu-Natal (RSA). She completed her Journalism National Diploma at Durban University of Technology and currently studying Advanced Diploma in Management. She has worked for various Publications such as Umafrika, Ilanga and Isolezwe. She is a God-fearing woman and a graduate at Durban Christian Centre Bible Institute. MaNyambose who is also passionate about mentoring the youth, previously partnered with the University of South Africa (Unisa), on the annual career guidance programme for two years and recently with Mancosa on the similar programme.

She has been featured in Ukhozi FM, Radio 2000, Igagasi FM, Vuma FM, Inanda FM, Umgungundlovu Radio, Radio Pulpit, Ligwalagwala FM, Rainbow FM and Ikhwezi FM. She has also been featured on 1KZN TV for a couple of occasions. MaNyambose has also been a Host and a guest at Articulate Africa Art and Book Fair 2019 and 2021 respectively, a speaker at Women’s Dinner which was part of Durban Essence Festival, Time of The Writer Festival 2022, and Durban International Book Fair 2023 where she launched her latest offer: Restoration At 40. Zanele is a non-fiction writer who earnestly shares her personal life experiences and lays herself bear for the benefit of the reader. All her books unleash power and break chains of mental slavery andignorance.

Her first book titled Divorce Breaking The Silence was launched in 2017. On this book she shares her journey on love marriage and divorce. The book aims at breaking the silence on the subject and restores hope to those who went through the same. Trying To Love Again After Divorce was launched in 2020 and the book serves as a preparation to those who aspire to get married, and it taps into the hardships and challenges after divorce. Ukufa Kuyabhedisa is written in isiZulu and was inspired by Covid-19 pandemic. It’s a counselling manual for those who have lost their loved ones.

In November 2022, she launched her 9th book titled Restoration At 40, yet another personal account of her life leading to the fourth floor. This latest offer also displays her gratitude in the battles she survived, including the silent killer, depression.Five other books were published in 2018, commissioned by Macmillan Education SA. These are the series of educational stories targeting primary school kids and Zanele was approached by Macmillan Education SA to write these books under Thokozani Series Project. In 2021 The Book Behind Awards hosted their first annual awards where she received four nominations and won two awards. One of her books from Thokozani Series, Isipho Sikathunjana, bagged an award under the category for Best IsiZulu Children’s Book. Trying To Love Again also received an award under the Best Relationship Analyst Book. In 2023 she was recognised as Best Influential Woman in Mediaand Community Involvement by ACYMWE NPO.
