Welcome Mandla Lishivha is the author of Boy On The Run, a memoir that’s been shortlisted for the UJ Debut Prize & longlisted for the Sunday Times Non-fiction award. His work has appeared in the Mail & Guardian, Daily Maverick, GQ, Thompson Reuters Foundation, the Journal for Contemporary African Studies, Sawubona Magazine, Jack Journal, Getaway Magazine where he worked as a multimedia journalist and the City Press where he served as arts and lifestyle editor. He works as a freelance journalist and is also a researcher and publicist for Nkoli: Th Vogue Opera, an opera about the life and trials of anti-apartheid and gay activist Simon Nkoli composed by Philip Miller.
