From an early age, Angela Makholwa harboured dreams of becoming a storyteller. Her love for the written word led to her first short story being published at the age of 13 in the popular youth publication Upbeat Magazine. From that moment, the bug had bitten. Angela went on to graduate with a degree in Journalism from Rhodes University and worked as a journalist for several years before starting her own public relations, printing, and branding agency, Britespark Communications, in 2002. Her debut novel, Red Ink, has been adapted into a Showmax original screenplay. Her second book, The 30th Candle, has been adapted into a Netflix film. She has since published four more award-winning books: The Black Widow Society, The Blessed Girl, Critical, But Stable, and The Reed Dance Stalker.
