Andile Cele
Andile Cele is a writer and communications specialist, born and raised in KwaDukuza (Stanger), KwaZulu-Natal. In 2023, she was runner-up for the Island Prize for African Writers, founded by South African author Karen Jennings. Her debut novel, Braids & Migraines (April 2025), is published by Holland House Books and distributed in South Africa by Karavan Press. Cele holds a degree in Journalism from the Tshwane University of Technology, a BA in Creative Writing, and a BA (Honours) in Theory of Literature from the University of South Africa. She is currently an MA candidate at Stellenbosch University, researching the depiction of intergenerational trauma and healing in selected South African women’s writing.
