S’fundo Sosibo

S’fundo W. Sosibo is the author of Staging Black, Queer South Africa: Plays for the Gods! (2024). He has taught theatre at institutions including the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban University of Technology, the Nelson Mandela Museum, and the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls (OWLAG). As a playwright, his work has been featured at prestigious events such as the National Arts Festival (Makhanda) and the Almasi African Playwrights Conference (Harare). In 2022, he hosted Walking with Shadows, Zimbabwe’s first queer literary symposium. His short story “Interred with the Bones” was published in the Ripe Peach anthology in 2025. Sosibo was a 2023 Writing Fellow at the Johannesburg Institute for Advanced Study (JIAS) and Artist in Residence at the University of Johannesburg Arts & Culture in 2024. He currently serves as Head of Research at AFDA (Durban North).
