Lebo Mazibuko

Lebo Mazibuko was born and raised in the township of Soweto, in Johannesburg. Her debut novel Bantu Knots (2021) was shortlisted for a K. Sello Duiker Memorial Award at the South African Literary Awards in 2022. Lebo’s writing focuses on telling multi-generational stories about black women, black communities, religion and culture. Her second novel, Fabrics of Love (2025), is a family saga is told through the lens of the third generation of women who surround Lemohang Ntoi, the head of the family, as he struggles to hold onto life as he knew it. She holds a B-Tech in Drama from the Tshwane University of Technology and a Master’s in Creative Writing from the University of Cape Town.
